SPEEDWAY
Colchester Stars is the town's cycle speedway club, meeting every Thursday at the Shrub End playing fields, next to Boadicea Way, Colchester.
The club provides all the kit (bikes, helmets, etc) and children aged from seven upwards can turn up from 6.30pm. Long trousers and a long-sleeved top must be worn.
The club practises timed laps, using a starting gate, and works on tactics ready for meetings with other towns cycle speedway teams.

GRASSTRACK
Grasstrack is run by Colchester Rovers, also at the Shrub End playing fields. The track is marked out from May to August and the activity is aimed at under-16s. During the winter, the Rovers run under-16s cyclo-cross on a grass/woodland course.
