Police buy high quality bikes
Colchester Cycling Campaign has written to Essex Chief Constable Roger Baker to congratulate him on the force's choice of cycles for its neighbourhood policing initiative.
Essex Police has bought a fleet of Smith and Wesson Perimeter cycleswhich are specially made for community policing.

CCC chairman Will Bramhill said: "Previously the police have bought what we can only describe as £70 specials.
"They've then been left to rot when the tyres puncture frequently, when gears break and when they rust prematurely.
"CCC has been writing to Essex Police over several years pointing out the type and quality of bikes they should be buying. We like to think this latest decision has been something to do with that!"
