Cycle Essex to launch with charity ride
Cycle Essex, a unique way to explore Essex, has been launched in a bid to encourage visitors and local residents to get on their bikes and explore the beauty of the county.
Nine cycle routes have been devised to take the rider into some of the county’s most beautiful locations. The routes are presented within a high quality folder and each one is supported by professional cartography and information about what to see and do in the local area.
Essex Development and Regeneration Agency have teamed up with Helen Rollason Heal Cancer charity to launch Cycle Essex through a charity cycle ride on the 5 May 2007.
The event will be covered LIVE by BBC Essex and two of their presenters, Steve Scruton and Angela Lodge will be cycling on the day helping to raise funds for the charity, which helps thousands of people who have been touched by cancer and wants to encourage people to go out, get fit and rediscover the beauty of Essex.
The charity cycle ride will start at Great Notley Country Park and Discovery Centre, goes through the Flitch Way, continues on a circular route via Great Saling and then back again to Rayne Station, the start of the Flitch Way (total distance about 15 miles). For families with children there is the option to remain totally off road and cycle along the Flitch Way only (about 10 miles).
Everybody is welcome to participate and help support the fantastic work done by the Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity. To participate please register directly at the Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity Tel: 01245 513285
