Two Colchester cyclists came off their bikes as a result of deep potholes on the East Bay section of the Wivenhoe Trail.

CCC member Peter Lynn - one of the cyclists affected - reported the matter to Colchester Council and the holes were filled withing two working days.

Peter also alerted other cyclists to the hazard via the e-mail group.

He said: "This shows the importance of cyclists working together.

"Well done to Colchester Council for taking the matter seriously and acting so quickly."
