Colchester Stars is the town's cycle speedway club, meeting every Thursday at the Boadicea Way playing fields.

The club provides all the kit (bikes, helmets, etc) and children aged from seven upwards can turn up from 6.30pm. Long trousers and a long-sleeved top must be worn.

The club practises timed laps, using a starting gate, and works on tactics ready for meetings with other towns cycle speedway teams.
