The Rovers are one of the oldest cycling clubs in Britain, founded in 1892. They take their name from their founders' preference for the Rover safety bicycle over the high ordinary cycle, more commonly called the penny farthing.
Today's Rovers concentrate on racing and audax riding, as well as reliability trials and grasstrack racing
