Bicycle User Groups

Anyone interested in setting up or joining a BUG should contact Emily Harrup at Colchester, or Janet Totham at Essex for more information. A range of advice - and possibly funding for small schemes - is available.

Colchester and Essex councils are keen to set up Bicycle User Groups (BUGs) in and around Colchester.

The aim of BUGs is to help cyclists talk to each other - about routes to work, bike parking, best locks, best kit, etc.

They would also help new cyclists start utility cycling.

The most obvious places for BUGs are the large employers, such as the University of Essex, Colchester Hospital, the Army, and Flakt Woods.

However, if you and more than five colleagues cycle, there is no reason why you shouldn't set one up, too.
