If you use your bike for work or school, you should consider joining or setting up a Bicycle User Group (Bug).

These groups are a great way to push for improvements to routes to work, as well as bike parking and security. It's also fun to share stories of your commute - and the weather.

There isn't much work involved - simply set up an e-mail group, and away you go. If you have suggestions, channel them via your line manager, staff council or trade union.

Essex University has the most active Bug in town and will be willing to give advice to anyone wanting to set one up in thier workplace.

Colchester Sixth Form College in North Hill also has a Bug. Inquiries to Keith Ellis, sustainability coordinator, telephone 01206 505650 or 07599 091 781.

You could also contact Colchester 2020. Remember to replace "@" with "at" in mail addresses on this site.

Please inform Colchester Cycling if you do set up a Bug, and we'll put your contact details here. Bugs are needed at Colchester General Hospital, Essex County Hospital, Colchester Leisure World and Flakt Woods as well as other large employers.
