To get a hat or not? The choice must be yours
Helmets are a major cause of controversy. Commonsense says to wear one but some research is pointing to why you should avoid them - in fact, one state in Australia which made helmets compulsory in the 1990s is reviewing that decision.
CCC believes helmets should be a matter of individual choice for all ages, and that YOUR decision should be based on sound consideration of the arguments for and against.
There is plenty of advice on the web about why you should wear a helmet. For an alternative view, promoting the argument for individual choice, visit www.cyclehelmets.org

One final point: if you have a tenner to spend, do you fork out on a fluorescent safety vest or a helmet? Always bear in mind that a safety vest can stop an accident happening in the first place...
CCC opposes moves by employers to force staff to wear helmets, and such compulsion is not covered by health and safety legislation. Please get in touch if this is happening to you.
